Writeup: Yvonne De Carlo broke into films in 1942
with the film Harvard, Here I Come. For the next three years
she worked her way up the ladder doing extra work, playing
bit parts, and looking pretty. In 1945 she was given the lead
in the movie Salome, Where She Danced and it was the last
time she had to do extra work. Cast mostly as a lovely set
decoration, Yvonne was able to perform admirably when called
upon to do so, although this didn't happen much. She was mostly
cast in adventure films, appearing scantily clad, or in corsets
in a wild west saloon. Many people probaby know her as Lily
Munster, a role she played for two years on the TV show The
Munster's and in the TV movie Munster, Go Home. |
