Writeup: Yancy Butler is a talented and beautiful
actress with an impressive resume. She has successfully mixed
working both in TV and feature films, building a large list
of credits in both mediums. Her breakthrough came in 1992
when she was cast on the TV series Mann & Machine. Unfortunately,
it was short lived, only one year, but we saw her the very
next year on the show South Beach, another quick cancellation.
For the next five years we saw her work in feature films,
including the movies Hard Target (1993), Drop Zone (1994),
Let It Be Me (1995), Fast Money (1995) and The Ex (1997).
In 1997 she was cast in Brooklyn South, a show that was supposed
to be a big hit but never materialized the way the network
thought it would. It was taken off the air after one year.
Yancy made a big splash when she was cast as the lead actress
in the TNT series Witchblade, based on the comic book of the
same name. The show developed an impressive following but
was nonetheless canceled after one year. This movie surprised
some people, but I heard that the cost was too much for the
network to justify keeping the show on the air. |
