Writeup: Whoopi Goldberg is impossibly famous, seemingly
revered in Hollywood, and I wanna know why. Clearly she's
a talented actress, winning an Oscar in 1991 for role in Ghost,
but since then it seems as though she's been in one awful
movie after another. Let me name just a few; Eddie, Ghosts
Of Mississippi, Bogus, The Associate, Boys On The Side, the
list goes on and on. And yet she's allowed to host the Academy
Awards (during which she's terribly unfunny), and she seems
to have the utmost respect around the industry. It's a complete
mystery to me, and the mystery continues with her unfunny
sitcom, creatively titled Whoopi, getting good ratings. |
