Writeup: The daughter of a New York astrologer, Wendy
Makkena has an up and down resume, but she has remained employed
for nearly 15 years now, an impressive feat. She made her
debut as Katie Timmons on the soap opera Santa Barbara and
made her feature film debut in Eight Men Out (1988), playing
Kate Jackson, wife of Shoeless Joe. Many of you may remember
her from Sister Act (1992) and Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit
(1993) as Sister Mary Robert, the little girl with a big voice.
She has since appeared in the feature films Camp Nowhere (1994),
Air Bud (1997), The People (1997) and Finding North (1998).
In the past five years she has made her biggest impact on
television, costarring in the shows The Job (2001) and Oliver
Beene (2003) while nabbing a recurring role on Judging Amy,
