| The
Writeup: Probably best known for her many roles on
TV in the 80s and 90s, Wendie Jo Sperber has a long feature
film and TV resume, starting in 1978 with the feature film
Corvette Summer. She also starred in I Wanna Hold Your Hand
that year and appeared in Steven Spielberg's 1941 the next
year (the movie was a flop, one of the few he's done). 1980
marked the beginning of TV's long love affair with Wendie.
That year she was cast in the Tom Hanks sitcom Bosom Buddies
(1980-82). Here is a list of her series work following Bosom
Buddies: Private Benjamin (1982-83), Women in Prison (1987-88),
Babes (1990-91) and Hearts Afire (1992-93). She's never had
a breakout hit on TV, but many people love and remember her
for her many varied roles. She has also done some guesting
on TV shows, appearing on Who's The Boss, Designing Women,
Married...With Children, Kirk, Murphy Brown, Will & Grace
and Home Improvement. Her feature film resume includes Bachelor
Party (1984), Back to the Future (1985), Delta Fever (1987),
Back to the Future Part III (1990), Mr. Write (1994), Desperate
But Not Serious (1999), and Sorority Boys (2002). In 1998
she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and has presumably beaten
the disease. In 2002 she founded weSPARK, a non profit breast
cancer support center. |
