| The
Writeup: Vicki Zhao is a superstar of Asian cinema,
coming into fame as the new millenium came to pass. She made
her feature film debut in Behind the Forbidden City (1996),
but it was a small part and her big break didn't come until
4 years later in the film The Duel (2000), in which she played
Princess Phoenix. American audiences may know her from the
somewhat popular crossover film Shaolin Soccer (2001), a story
about a soccer team that uses their martial arts skills to
their advantage on the field. She played the female lead in
the film. She has also appeared in the movies Chinese Odyssey
2002 (2002), So Close (2002), Warriors of Heaven and Earth
(2003) and Green Tea (2003), all foreign productions from
what I can tell. One other interesting bit of information
about Vicki is that she was apparently banned from China after
being photographed wearing a dress made from a Japanese Battleflag,
which is a no no I guess. |
