Writeup: An attractive Asian actress, Tamlyn Tomita
has carved an impressive career in Hollywood, appearing in
a number of feature films, TV movies, and TV shows. She made
her feature film debut as Kumiko in The Karate Kid, Part II.
It was a high exposure role and since then she has worked
consistently, despite that challenges that an Asian woman
faces in Hollywood. Her notable feature films include Come
See the Paradise (1990), Vietnam, Texas (1990), The Joy Luck
Club (1993), Four Rooms (1995), The Killing Jar (1996), Touch
(1997), Living Out Loud (1998), Soundman (1999), Robot Stories
(2003), and The Day After Tomorrow (2004). She has been a
part of more than 10 made for TV movies, including the Babylon
5 TV movie that eventually turned into the long running series
(I'm not sure why she didn't end up on the series). Tamlyn
has also appeared as a series regular on four shows: Santa
Barbara (1987-88), Raven (1992), The Burning Zone (1996-97)
and JAG (2002-????). |
