with formidable range, Stockard has worked in all manners
of media throughout her career. A Tony winner for her performance
in "A Day In The Death Of Joe Egg," an Oscar nominated
actress for Six Degrees of Separation, and a multiple Emmy
winner, Stockard has been working since 1969 when she began
a recurring role on Sesame Street that lasted for five years
(how's that for diversity?). She never really hit it big when
it came to box office success, but now she's become more popular
than ever thanks to her critically acclaimed role on NBC's
hit drama The West Wing. Winning one Emmy from her four nominations
for the show (so far) Stockard has won over audiences and
critics alike with her portrayal of the President's wife. |
