Writeup: An international star, Sonia is known as
the Brazilian Bombshell, and for good reason. She's a beautiful,
dark, curvy actress with talents to match her looks. She rose
to stardom in Brazil through her star turns on multiple soap
operas. She was featured in many roles in her native country
in the late 60s and early 70s, but it wasn't until her role
in Dona Flor And Her Two Husbands (1978) that she really gained
a level of international fame. She starred in subsequent films
Lady On The Bus (1978), I Love You (1981), and Gabriela (1983)
before making her English language debut in Kiss Of The Spider
Woman (1985). Other American efforts include The Milagro Beanfield
War (1988), Moon Over Parador (1988), The Rookie (1990), Roosters
(1993), Two Deaths (1995), and Perfume (2001). She has never
achieved fame in American comparable to the kind she had in
her home country and around the world, but she remains a popular
