the 1976 Brian DePalma film Carrie. Playing a disturbed teen
with amazing powers, Sissy wowed audiences the world over,
and established herself as an excellent actress. Throughout
the 80s she delivered top notch performances, earning four
Oscar nominations in the decade, and winning for 1980's The
Coal Miner's Daughter. The 90s saw her relegated mostly to
roles in TV movies and second rate films. She initiated a
comeback in 2001 with her chilling performance from In The
Bedroom, a role that earned her an Oscar nomination. |
