The
Writeup: Sharon Leal was born in Tucson, Arizona,
and shortly thereafter the family moved to Fresno, California,
where Sharon was raised. She attended the Roosevelt High
School Of The Arts and was into community theater at age
13, beginning a long career in performing. She is a gifted
singer and has parlayed that into performances on Broadway
and other stage venues, including a run as Mimi Marquez
in the Broadway production of RENT. In 1996 she landed her
first major on screen role as Dahlia Crede on The Guiding
Light, a role she would have from 1996-1999. During this
time she also appeared on the UPN series Legacy, but it
was short lived (1998-1999 season). 2000 brought her biggest
role yet, that of Marilyn Sudor on the David E. Kelley series
Boston Public, an entertaining look at inner city schools.
Ratings haven't been stellar, but the show remains on the
air, which means Sharon does too. Sharon's one feature film
credit is 2000's Face the Music.
