Writeup: An attractive actress, Sharon Lawrence came
to fame playing ADA Sylvia Costas on NYPD Blue, a role she
held from 1993-1999, earning three Emmy nominations in the
process. It also happened to be her first major role, making
her quite a success story. No toiling in crappy bit parts
for years for Sharon (although it's possible she struggled
on the fringe of Hollywood for years, most people do). She
also had the lead role in the series Fired Up (1997-98), appeared
as a major character in The Ladies Man (1999-2001) and starred
in the very short lived Wolf Lake (2001). And that's just
her TV series roles, there's lots more where that came from.
Her feature film resume isn't all that impressive, but she's
a TV actress. Her feature films include her debut, Bloodfist
V: Human Target (1993), plus The Only Thrill (1997), the silly
teen thriller Gossip (2000), Fly Cherry (2003) and the upcoming
Little Black Book (2004). She has also starred in 11 TV movies,
including The Shaggy Dog (1994), the well rated The Heidi
Chronicles (1995) on TNT, the silly disaster movie Aftershock:
Earthquake in New York (1999) for CBS, and the even siller
disaster movie Atomic Twister (2002) for TBS (it garnered
big time ratings though, saying something bad about the American
TV viewing public). |
