Writeup: A singer/actress, Samantha Mumba was born
in Dublin, Ireland, although she is of African descent. Her
father immigrated to Ireland from Zambia before she was born
due to the country's upheaval after it's independence from
Great Britain. So Samantha grew up in Ireland and has become
one of the country's most successful pop stars while crafting
the beginnings of an acting carer. Voted the 85th sexiest
woman in the world by FHM Magazine, Samantha has recorded
a handful of #1 hit on the English pop charts and entered
the movie business with a starring role in the 2002 Guy Pearce
starred The Time Machine. A movie that looked like it had
potential, it wound up being a bastardization of the novel
and really didn't live up to it's potential. Nonetheless,
it brought Samantha a higher profile and has afforded her
more opportunities. So far she has only appeared in the feature
film Spin the Bottle (2003), but my guess is she will continue
to act in the future. It's a logical way to extend a pop music
career, which is notoriously short lived. |
