Writeup: A member of the Royal Shakespeare Company
and a delightfully talented theater actress, Samantha Bond
is best known, in the US at least, for her portrayal of Miss
Moneypenny in the Pierce Brosnan starring James Bond films.
She first played the part in GoldenEye (1995), and repeated
it in Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World Is Not Enough
(1999) and Die Another Day (2002). She has hinted multiple
times that she will give up the role once Pierce Brosnan is
replaced as James, but time will tell. Outside of that well
known franchise, Samantha has appeared on stage countless
times, including touring companies, Broadway (playing the
title character in the David Hare play Amy's View in 1999),
and London's West End (world famous for it's theater). On
British television she has starred in a number of movies,
minis, and TV shows. Her series experience includes Rumpole
of the Bailey (1987), Tears Before Bedtime (1995), Family
Money (1997) and Brand Spanking New Show (2000), plus the
minis Mansfield Park (1983), The Ginger Tree (1989) and The
Canterbury Tales (2003). She also famously appeared in the
TV movie NCS: Manhunt (2001) and it's sequel NCS 2 (2002),
which were good old fashioned caper movies. |
