Writeup: Sally Kirkland has an insane number of credits
to her name, appearing in more than 70 feature films, 20 TV
movies, and five TV shows. She got started in 1960 with a
bit part in Crack in the Mirror. More small parts followed
until the late 60s when she started getting meatier supporting
roles in major films like Coming Apart (1969), Fury On Wheels
(1971), The Way We Were (1973), The Sting (1973), Cinderella
Liberty (1973), Big Bad Mama (1974), Breakheart Pass (1975),
Pipe Dreams (1976), Hometown USA (1979), Private Benjamin
(1980), The Incredible Shrinking Woman (1981). In 1987 she
hit her career high point when she was nominated for an Academy
Award for her performance as Anna in the movie of the same
name (Anna). Since then she has been in a ton of movies, most
of them low budget straight to video features, but there are
a few notable nuggets in there. Namely, JFK (1991), Paper
Hearts (1993 - she also exec produced), Excess Baggage (1997),
Edtv (1999), and Bruce Almighty (2003). She has also appeared
on the TV shows General Hospital, Valley Of The Dolls, and
Days Of Our Lives. |
