Writeup: There was a time in Rosie's career when she
was a fast rising star who seemed destined to become a big
time talent. Her debut feature film role was as Spike Lee's
girlfriend in 1989's Do The Right Thing and right out of the
box she impressed critics and audiences alike. The early 90s
were gangbusters for her, with impressive and popular roles
in Night On Earth (1991), White Men Can't Jump (1992), Untamed
Heart (1993), Fearless (1993 - this tour de force role earned
her an Oscar nomination) and It Could Happen To You (1994).
After 1994, the train seems to have derailed. There could
be any number of explanations for it, but all I know is that
Rosie seemingly fell of the face of the earth after her hot
start. She has since appeared in mostly forgettable feature
films (Louis & Frank, Human Nature, King Of The Jungle)
and hasn't landed a prime starring role. |
