Writeup: Most famously known as the wife of Hollywood
superstar Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson is an excellent actress and
quite a little hottie. She began her career with a role in
the TV movie Flying High in 1978 but didn't really see a starring
role until 1985's Volunteers. It was on the set of this film
that she began her relationship with Tom Hanks, and since
she didn't appear in another movie until 1990, one can only
assume that she spent those years working on her relationship,
and in 1988, her marriage to Hanks. Since 1990 she has appeared
in a number of studio films delivering quality supporting
performances. The most notable among these are Sleepless In
Seattle, Mixed Nuts, Jingle All The Way, Runaway Bride, The
Story Of Us and Auto Focus. It should also be noted that Rita
is probably the person most responsible for the mega indie
hit My Big Fat Greek Wedding. After seeing Nia Vardalos' one
woman show she and her husband set up the picture with Playtone
Productions and got it made. It is now the highest grossing
independent film of all time. |
