Writeup: Renee O'Connor was born and raised in a suburb
of Houston, Texas and began her acting career in commercials,
landing some impressive gigs (she did one commercial for McDonalds).
She made her feature film debut in the 1989 film Night Game,
a little seen film in which she had a small part. More roles
in both TV and feature films followed, but it wasn't until
1994's TV movie Hercules And The Lost Kingdom (where she played
Deianeira, that she gained notice. It was this movie that
convinced producers that she was the right person for the
role of Gabrielle on syndicated series Xena: Warrior Princess
when it came time to do casting in 1995. For six years she
played Xena's sidekick, whooping the butts of evil doers.
She even directed two episodes of the show. The only other
work she's done since the show started is the 2000 feature
film Rubbernecking. |
