Writeup: Rachel Dratch graduated from Darthmouth College
in 1988 (she's a smarty). She came to SNL from the acclaimed
Second City sketch comedy troupe in Chicago, a virtual fountain
of comedy genius that has provided a number of cast members
to SNL, including Tina Fey, Chris Farley, Horatio Sanz, John
Belushi, and Bill Murray (among others). While there she became
a veteran of the company's mainstage and hosted, along with
Tina Fey, a show called Dratch & Fey. In 1999 she made
the jump to SNL and appeared for two years as a featured player.
She is now a regular cast member and is building a movie career,
appearing in character parts in the independent film The Hebrew
Hammer (2003), plus the Ewan McGregor and Renee Zellweger
starrer Down with Love (2003), Dickie Roberts: Former Child
Star (2003), starring David Spade, After School Special (2003)
and the upcoming Home of Phobia (2004). |
