Writeup: Around the year 2000, Penelope was the hottest
thing on the planet. The buzz surrounding her propelled her
to the covers of many magazines around the country and helped
her land a contract to promote cosmetics. However, it all
fell short. Her big english language debut, Woman On Top,
flopped, as did her follow up, All The Pretty Horses. When
both Blow & Captain Corelli's Mandolin were box office
dissapointments Penelope lost some of her buzz and also her
cosmetics contract. She managed to stay in the papers by dating
Tom Cruise, but her career hasn't ever come close the heights
she was supposed to hit, which is sad, considering she's one
of the most beautiful women on the planet. We should all be
allowed the pleasure to witness Ms. Cruz in as many films
as possible. |
