Writeup: Peggy Lipton's career stretches over an unimaginable
amount of time, beginning with her role on The John Forsythe
Show (1965-66). In 1968 she landed what may be her most popular
role, that of Julie Barnes on The Mod Squad (1968-1973). The
show garnered impressive ratings during it's five year run
and made popular stars out of it's cast members, especially
Peggy, considering she was a mega hottie. She looked a hell
of a lot like a model back then, and I think she was a popular
fixture in magazines and in the minds of young men around
the world. In 1974, the year after The Mod Squad went off
the air, Peggy married legendary musical genius Quincy Jones
and almost completely stopped acting, aside from the TV movie
Return of the Mod Squad (1979). She had two children with
Jones, and the pair divorced in 1989. After the split Peggy
went back to work, seemingly picking up where she left off.
She landed roles in the feature films War Party (1988), Purple
People Eater (1988), and Kinjite: Forbidden Subjects (1989)
before being cast as Norma Jennings on the hugely popular
but short lived Twin Peaks (1990-1991, the show garnered enormous
ratings but was so confusing and aimless that it was yanked
anyway). She has since appeared on the TV show Angel Falls
(1993, pulled after only a handful of episodes) and the feature
films The Postman (1997), The Intern (2000), Skipped Parts
(2000), and Jackpot (2001). Peggy is in her mid 50s now but
she remains absolutely beautiful. |
