| The
Writeup: As a high schooler Pamela Sue Martin took
the advice of a friend, based on the obscene wages her friend
was earning, and gave modeling a shot. She was a hit and before
she had graduated she was earning a substantial amount of
money as a model in magazines and commercials. While still
in high school she auditioned for the film To Find A Man,
and after three long months of call backs and deliberation,
she was cast in the lead female role, kicking what would be
a fairly impressive career. 1972 also saw her in The Poseidon
Adventure, a big production featuring five Academy Award winners
and the relatively green Pamela Sue. She handled herself well
though and saw a number of other films come her way in the
70s, including Buster and Billie (1974), Our Time (1974),
It Could Happen to You (1975) and The Lady in Red (1979).
She also starred in the TV movies The Girls of Huntington
House (1973), The Gun and the Pulpit (1974), The Hemingway
Play (1977) and Human Feelings (1978) in that decade, her
most prolific when it comes to work. The 80s found her working
less, but also starring in Dynasty from 1981-1984, appearing
in front of millions upon millions of eyes every week. Other
work in her career includes the feature films Torchlight (1984),
Flicks (1987), and A Cry in the Wild (1990), her last. She
has done very little work in Hollywood since the early 90s,
only appearing on an episode of That 70's Show in 2002. |
