Writeup: Meredith Baxter is one of the most enduring
TV stars of the last 20 years. She has appeared in more than
40 made for TV movies, plus has appeared as a series regular
on four shows, not to mention her numerous guest starring
appearances on TV. Her first role on TV was a guest starring
part on an episode of The Partridge Family in 1971. The very
next year she was playing the female lead in the show Bridget
Loves Bernie. While that show was quickly canceled, Meredith
was here to stay. She did more guest starring roles in the
following years, and starred in two feature films and six
made for TV movies before landing a role on the TV series
Family. She played the role of Nancy Lawrence Maitland from
1976-1980. However, Meredith didn't become the well known
figure she is today until 1982 when Family Ties made it to
air. The show would go on to become one of the most popular
of the decade, making stars out of it's cast members and cementing
a lasting legacy on the TV landscape. Both while she was on
the show and in the years after Meredith has been a fixture
on TV movies, many of them of the Lifetime variety, but she
has been working steadily. |
