| The
Writeup: I think it's quite likely that Melody Anderson
remains popular today because of her debut feature film role,
playing the role of Dale Arden in the bizarre science fiction
flick Flash Gordon. Melody plays the female lead, and the
damsel in distress that Flash must rescue from the evil Ming
The Merciless. She subsequently appeared in the sci fi series
Manimal (1983) and the TV movie pilot that preceded it. Manimal
was canceled fairly quickly, but it probably helped contribute
to her legacy. Other feature films include Dead & Buried (1981),
the Chuck Norris and Louis Gossett Jr starrer Firewalker (1986),
Speed Zone! (1989) and Landslide (1992). She also appeared
in the TV movies Policewoman Centerfold (1983, based on a
true story of a Policewoman who loses her job and poses naked
in order to make money, aired on NBC), Ladies of the Night
(1986, about a bordello in crisis, aired on NBC), and Hitler's
Daughter (1990, Hitler's daughter wants to occupy the White
House and it's up to investigators to find out who she is
before time runs out). |
