Writeup: Melina doesn't have a huge resume, only 13
projects since 1987 (as of 2003), but she has done some very
impressive TV work. She made her feature film debut in Carts
(1987, a small role) and landed her big break as Eleni Andros
Spaulding Cooper on The Guiding Light in 1991, a part she
played until 1995. From there she was cast in New York News,
a short lived TV series. That very same year (1995) she was
grabbed up by NYPD Blue for a short story arc. It was her
role on the NBC series Providence, which ran for 3.5 seasons,
that really endeared her to American Audiences. She played
the lead in the sweet drama and the show developed a loyal
following on Friday nights. In fact, there was a such a turnout
for the show's finale that NBC execs expressed some regret
at canceling the show. Her feature films include The Long
Kiss Goodnight, Dangerous Beauty, Rounders, and 15 Minutes. |
