Writeup: Melanie Lynskey was born in New Plymouth,
New Zealand and attended New Plymouth Girls High School. It
was at that very high school where Melanie was discovered
by Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh and tapped to play the lead
in their film Heavenly Creatures. Melanie's performance was
critically lauded, but it wasn't until 1998's film Ever After
that she truly broke into acting. After that a stream of parts
came in, with Melanie having roles in films such as Detroit
Rock City, But I'm A Cheerleader, Coyote Ugly, Sweet Home
Alabama and Abandon. In 2003 she was tapped to play Rose,
one of the female leads on the hit sitcom Two And A Half Men
(which is actually the highest rated new show of 2003). |
