Writeup: A pretty brunette actress, Mel Harris began
her career on the popular TV show thirtysomething (1987),
playing Hope Steadman from 1987-1991. It was her first role
for all intensive purposes and she has worked steadily ever
since. Her other TV shows are the short lived series Raising
Caines (1995) and the NBC series Something So Right (1996-1998).
Thirtysomething carried her into feature films and TV movies
as well, establishing a long lasting career in both. Her first
feature film came in 1987, Wanted: Dead or Alive. She has
since appeared in K-9 (1989), the well received Raising Cain
(1992), Suture (1993), the horror film The Pagemaster (1994),
Sonic Impact (1999), and Dynamite (2002). She has also done
a great many TV movies, including The Burden of Proof (1992),
Broken Lullaby (1994), With Hostile Intent (1995) and Murder,
