Writeup: Megyn Price grew up in Oklahoma and took
up acting in high school, along with writing and producing.
She attended Stanford University to study communications and
economics and while there performed in college theater and
took acting classes at Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.
Upon graduating she took a job as an investment banker, but
it wasn't long before she decided to give that up and pursue
her true passion, acting. It took some time, but she landed
a role on the series Common Law (1996), a sitcom for ABC.
It was very poorly rated and pulled from the air after only
a handful of episodes, but Megyn was in Hollywood for good.
That same year she guest starred on Renegade and The Drew
Carey Show, further boosting her television profile. 1998
brought a role on the Al Franken sitcom Lateline, which had
potential but ended up being quite unfunny and was pulled
after only a handful of episodes. More bad luck for Megyn
it seems. 1999 brought to feature films: Love Happens and
the excellent David E. Kelley written Mystery, Alaska, which
also starred Russell Crowe. The movie received little attention
and flopped at the box office, but I liked it a lot. 2001
brought Megyn's most significant role yet, as Claudia Finnerty,
the mother of the family, on Fox's Grounded For Life. The
show debuted to decent ratings but Fox canned it after season
1. Luckily, it was picked up by the WB, and in a rare move,
switched networks. So Megyn still has a steady job on a fairly
enjoyable sitcom. |
