Writeup: The half British half Filipino Maui Taylor
came into show business at a fairly young age, appearing on
the TV show TGIS (it's a Phillipine teen show) in 1995, at
the age of 13. Next was the popular drama series Anna Karenina,
where she played Brigitte from 1997-1999. She also starred
in the feature films Ang Lahat ng ito'y para sa 'yo (1998),
Tatarin (2001), and S2pid Luv (2002) before breaking stride
and baring it all in the film Gamitan (2002). In the film
she plays a student who turns into a sexual wild child after
spending one night with a basketball star. She decided to
take the role as a career move, hoping it would generate significant
press for her and jump start her adult career. Well, it all
seems to have worked out for her. She appeared on the cover
of FHM Magazine (the international edition) in a seductive
pose and was named the 6th sexiest woman in the world. Since
then she has taken sexier roles in films like Sex Drive (2003)
and The Last Virgin (2003). I'm not sure Maui will ever break
into American films, but she is experiencing a great deal
of success around the world. |
