Writeup: Mary Kay Place has been a beloved character
actress in Hollywood since the mid 1970s, appearing in numerous
quality feature films in her career. She made her on an episode
of All In The Family, and guested on a few more shows before
landing a gig of her own as Loretta Haggers on the TV show
Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. The show only ran for two years,
but she won an Emmy for her first season on the show. Mary
hasn't done a TV series since, although she has appeared in
many made to TV movies and minis. Some of her most notable
feature films include More American Graffiti (1979), Private
Benjamin (1980), The Big Chill (1983), Smooth Talk (1985),
Baby Boom (1987), Captain Ron (1992), Citizen Ruth (1996),
The Rainmaker (1997), Being John Malkovich (1999), Girl, Interrupted
(1999), and Sweet Home Alabama (2002). She continues to work
furiously. |
