The
Writeup: An actress with the longest name in Hollywood
(that's just a guess), Mary really came out of the box swinging,
first landing a part in Scarface (1983) as Al Pacino's fiery
sister, and going pound for pound with Paul Newman in The
Color Of Money (an Oscar nominated performance). The underwhelming
productions Slamdance and January Man followed before she
appeared with Ed Harris in James Cameron's The Abyss, a
wildly popular film. The string of hits continued in 1991
when she landed the part of Maid Marian in Kevin Costner's
Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves, another big money maker.
Mary's profile was sky high, but Prince Of Thieves was the
last high profile role she took before 2000's The Pefect
Storm, and even that was a fairly small supporting role
(although I'll bet it paid well). Mary wed directory Pat
O'Connor in 1990 and lowered her profile considerably to
spend time with her family and have the freedom to choose
roles that inspired her.
