Writeup: Markie Post grew up in Walnut Creek, CA and
made the move to Hollywood in the 70s. Markie actually got
started behind the camera, first as a member of the editorial
staff on Family Feud and then as an associate producer of
the game show Double Dare. In 1978 she moved in front of the
cameras as a model on the game show Card Sharks, where she
stayed until 1981. She also appeared in the 1978 telepic Frankie
and Annette: The Second Time Around in a bit part. Up next
was a role on the TV series Semi-Tough (1980), which only
lasted a handful of episodes. 1982 brought a role on The Fall
Guy, her first big time part, and a role that she played for
three years before being tapped to play the public defender
on the hugely popular Night Court. She played the role until
1992, and while she hasn't had an equal success since then,
she remains an active actress, appearing on the shows Hearts
Afire (1992-95), Odd Man Out (1999-2000), Late Boomers (2001),
and Electra Woman and Dyna Girl (2001). She has appeared in
one feature film in her career, the smash hit There's Something
About Mary (1998). Markie remains an uncommonly beautiful
woman, looking better now than she ever has. |
