Writeup: A veteran of TV and feature films, Mariette
has never become a big star in any medium, but she has remained
a working actress for nearly 40 years. She started her career
in theater, and jumped to TV in 1965 with a one year role
on the soap Peyton Place. She has since appeared on the shows
The Hero (1966-67), Goodnight, Beantown (1983-84), as a host
of The Morning Show on CBS, WIOU (1990), To Have & to Hold
(1998), Healthy Solutions with Mariette Hartley (2001) and
One Life to Live (2001). Her first feature film was Ride the
High Country (1962), and other notable films include Barquero
(1970), Skyjacked (1972), The Magnificent Seven Ride! (1972),
Improper Channels (1981), Encino Man (1992) and Snitch (1996).
She is also a veteran of TV movies, with more than 25 on her
resume, and has guest starred on countless TV shows. In 1962
Mariette's father committed suicide and as a result of the
trama she endured Mariette decided to open a suicide prevention
foundation to help others suffering like her father did. |
