Writeup: Already a hugely popular recording star in
South America before she came to America, Maria debuted opposite
Robin Williams in the acclaimed Moscow On The Hudson. During
her prime, Hollywood was not an open place to women, let alone
ethnic women. As a result Maria was not offered many plum
roles, although she kicked butt opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger
in The Running Man, and she impressed audiences again in the
big budget sequel Predator 2 (not starring Schwarzenegger).
Since Predator 2 we haven't really seen her in anything notable,
although she has worked more in recent years than ever in
her career. |
