Life in the big time began with a role on the TV show The
Edge of Night (1979), playing Paige Madison for one year.
In 1981 she landed on As The World Turns, playing Margo Hughes
until 1983. In 1985 she had a role on the short lived series
Foley Square, and the next year she made her feature film
debut in Pretty in Pink (1986), playing an English teacher.
Her career really took off from there, as her feature film
