Writeup: A member of the famed Brat Pack, a collection
of young actors famous in the '80s, Mare has grown out of
that characterization and has developed into a reliable character
actress, appearing on both TV and in feature films. She is
actually the only former Brat Packer to be nominated for an
Academy Award (as of 2003), for her role in the 1995 film
Georgia. Some of her more memorable feature films include
One Trick Pony, St. Elmo's Fire, Nobody's Fool, Turner &
Hootch, Wyatt Earp, Georgia, and Dandelion. She is also and
accomplished TV actress, appearing in a number of telepics
and most recently as one of the stars of the TV show The Brotherhood
Of Poland New Hampshire. Unfortunately, the show is likely
to be canceled shortly. |
