Writeup: A longtime veteran of television, Marcia
was performing with the improvisational group The Fourth Wall
before being cast in the role of Carol Kester Bondurant on
The Bob Newhart Show, a popular hit in the 70s (it ran from
1972-1978). She had previously done a few guest starring roles
and had bit parts in two Columbo movies, but this was without
a doubt her big break. Surprisingly, she worked very little
during the 80s, appearing in the TV movies Gridlock (1980)
Finder of Lost Loves (1984), plus the feature films Pray TV
(1980), Teen Witch (1989) and My Mom's a Werewolf (1989).
The 90s brought more work however, with a recurring role on
The Simpsons as Edna Krabappel, plus a role as Mrs. Carruthers
on Full House from 1993-1995. She also appeared on the Comedy
Central series That's My Bush! for the one year it was on
the air. Ghoulies 3: Ghoulies Go to College (1991) was her
lone feature film in the 90s. |
