Writeup: A lovely hispanic character actress, Lupe
Ontiveros has crafted an impressive resuem in supporting roles
(for the most part) since 1976 when she guest starred on Charlie's
Angels. Since then she has appeared in feature films, TV movies
and even had series regular roles on three TV shows. Her most
memorable feature films include The Border (1982), El Norte
(1984), The Rosary Murders (1987), Universal Soldier (1992),
My Family (1995), As Good As It Gets (1997), Gabriela (2001),
Storytelling (2001) and Real Women Have Curves (2002). She
won a special jury prize at Sundance for the last film because
the jury so enjoyed her performance with her film daughter,
America Ferrera. She is also a versatile TV actress, having
appeared on three TV shows, Grand Slam (1990), Dudley (1993),
and Greetings from Tucson (2002-03) as a series regular. She
has also done numerous guest starring turns on some fantastics
shows, including Hill Street Blues, Who's The Boss?, Punky
Brewster, and Veronica's Closet (this last one is not so fantastic).
