Writeup: A longtime veteran of Hollywood, Loretta
made her debut in the early 80s but didn't begin working consistently
until the end of the decade. Her feature film debut was in
Will (1981), where she had a small part. Anna to the Infinite
Power (1983) followed but it wasn't until 1988 that she began
working consistently. That year she had roles in the feature
films Little Nikita (1988) and Sticky Fingers (1988) as well
as the TV movie The Murder of Mary Phagan (1988) and the TV
show A Different World. Since then she has appeared in nearly
30 feature films and numerous television projects. Her most
notable feature films include Stanley & Iris (1990), Class
Act (1992), Amos & Andrew (1993), Waiting to Exhale (1995),
The Preacher's Wife (1996), Down in the Delta (1998), Operation
Splitsville (1999), Punks (2000), What Women Want (2000),
and I Am Sam (2001). She also appears weekly on the Fox series
