1970s when she made her debut in All the President's Men (1976),
a very successful film. Since then she has balanced feature
films and television work well, appearing in more than 24
movies and 19 telepics. Her notable feature films include
Slap Shot (1977), Between the Lines (1977), Prince of the
City (1981), The Verdict (1982), Iceman (1984), Places in
the Heart (1984 - an Oscar nominated performance), House of
Games (1987), Desperate Hours (1990), Bye Bye, Love (1995),
The Juror (1996), Prefontaine (1997), The Insider (1999) and
Cherish (2002). Her TV work includes one year on the series
Hill Street Blues (1986-87), a year on the show Traps (1994),
plus the TV movies Columbo: Sex and the Married Detective
(1989), Chantilly Lace (1993), Norma Jean & Marilyn (1996)
and If These Walls Could Talk (1996). She is also a frequent
guest star on network TV, including the shows LA Law, ER,
