Writeup: Lily Tomlin is an incredibly gifted comedian
who has parlayed her skills into a long running film and television
career. She first appeared to America On Rowan And Martin's
laugh in for three years starting in 1970. She created a great
many memorable and zany characters on the show. It was clear
from the start that Lily was a comedic talent, she has also
done a great deal of performing in night clubs, etc, and has
released CDs of her act. Although she has never really established
an amazing acting career, she made a stunning film debut with
1975's Nashville, a role that earned her an Oscar nomination.
She has been up and down for her entire career though, Moment
By Moment (1978) was a disaster, but her next film 9 To 5
(1980) was a huge hit. 1981's The Incredibl Shrinking Woman
was another tank, but she followed it up with a quality performance
in 1984's All Of Me. Over time she developed into a reliable
character actress, making good use of her comedic skills to
make a movie better. Lily has also released a number of concert
videos. |
