Writeup: Leslie Bega made her professional acting
debut at age 7 in a Kool Aid commercial but didn't make an
appearance in a Hollywood production until Silence of the
Heart (1984), a TV movie. In the mid 80s she appeared in a
number of feature films as a dancer, including Breakin' (1984),
Body Rock (1984), and Girls Just Want to Have Fun (1985).
In 1988 she made her true feature film debut with For Keeps
(1988), playing Carlita. However, it was the 1986 show Head
of the Class (1986), which she left USC to star in, that gave
her the big break she needed. She starred for three years
as Maria Borges. After the show's run ended she went back
into feature films, appearing in Mobsters (1991), Uncaged
(1991), The American President (1995), Power 98 (1996), Against
the Law (1997), The Last Producer (2000) and Dating Games
People Play (2003) among others. Interestingly, she appeared
in the TV movie Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990) but didn't carry
over to the Fox TV show. You may have seen her on the Sopranos
season 4 as well, playing Valentina La Paz in three episodes. |
