Writeup: Leonor Watling is a Spanish actress who has
spent almost all of her career in Spanish movies, creating
a name for herself in Spain and amongst fans of foreign films.
In the past two years she has raised her American profile
considerably, first appearing in Pedro Almodovar's acclaimed
film Talk To Her (a film many thought would be a lock for
the best foreign film Oscar, except Spain wouldn't submit
it - they wanted to give someone else a chance) and next showing
up in the American film My Life Without Me, starring Sarah
Polley in the lead. Although she will probably continue to
work mainly overseas, it would be a crime if we didn't get
to see a little more of Leonor in American films. |
