Writeup: This dark, beautiful brunette created a great
buzz among Hollywood types with her breakthrough role in the
massively important independent film Sex, Lies, And Videotape
in 1989. With her star burning bright, she took a number of
roles in big budget films, never quite capturing that charm
and individualism of her first role (although many people
probably do remember her as Julia Roberts' best friend from
Pretty Woman). Her film resume is filled mostly with forgettable
roles however, and it wasn't until she was cast as Maya Gallo
in the NBC series Just Shoot Me! that the mainstream got a
look at Laura and her considerable talents. The sane anchor
for a show filled with eccentric characters, Laura was excellent
throughout the show's entire seven year run. |
