Writeup: Lana, sister of the more famous and distinguished
Natalie Wood, actually made her acting debut alongside her
sister in the 1956 film The Searchers. She was ten at the
time, and began her career in earnest in 1962 with Five Finger
Exercise. She appeared on to television show in the 60s, one
year with Long, Hot Summer and one year on Peyton Place. Both
roles served to raise her profile. It wasn't until 1971's
James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever, where she played the
part of Plenty O'Toole opposite Sean Connery that Lana hit
her peak. Bond girls are always popular, but they rarely craft
a respectable acting career afterward, and the same could
be said of Lana. After her Bond role she appeared mostly in
made for TV movies and the occasional mini series. In 1985
she wrote a book about her sister entitled, "Natalie,
A Memoir Of Natalie Wood." |
