Writeup: The lovely New Zealand born actress Kerry
Fox has led a widely varied career marked by excellent performances
in independent films. Her debut was in An Angel at My Table
(1990), for which she was awarded Best Actress at the New
Zealand Film And TV Awards. This was just the boost her career
needed, and from here on she was essentially off and running.
She has now appeared in more than 20 feature films in just
over ten years, some of them fabulous, others not so wonderful.
Some of her best roles include The Hanging Garden (1997),
for which she was nominated for a Genie Award (Canadian Oscars),
Country Life (1994), which earned her an Australian Film Institute
Award for Best Actress, Welcome to Sarajevo (1997), Shallow
Grave (1994), Shallow Grave (1994 - which further helped make
her a star) and Intimacy (2001). A note about Intimacy. It
features multiple scenes of actual, non simulated hardcore
sex between Kerry and her male costar Mark Rylance. The one
scene of oral sex is particularly explicit, you simply can't
fake that. I suppose it's all in the name of art though. |
