Writeup: I'm fairly certain there's some sort of Baywatch
curse out there. If you run down a list of the babes that
have appeared on the show (Pam Anderson, Yasmine Bleeth, Traci
Bingham, Gena Lee Nolin, Carmen Electra, Brande Roderick,
etc, etc), most of them have a very difficult time establishing
any sort of real acting career once they're off the show.
This is in part due to the fact that they're most often window
dressing actresses, more adept at looking good than acting,
and in part due to the fact that Baywatch carries a stigma
with it. However, I don't believe Kelly Packard is your typical
Baywatch babe. She was always more of a cutie than she was
a hottie (although she is definitely hot), but she still has
seen trouble getting established as an actress of consequence.
She made her TV debut on the Saturday morning series California
Dreams and was with the show until it's end in 1997. She immediately
moved on to Baywatch for two years on the beach. After she
left the show she hasn't really dont much to speak of, hosting
Ripley's Believe It Or Not on TBS and acting in a few movies.
I'm hoping some smart TV producer picks Kelly up for a cutie
role sometime in the near future. |
