Writeup: Kathy Ireland is an incredibly beautiful
and sexy woman who made her mark as one of the earliest and
most successful supermodels. Probably best known to the mass
public as a SI Swimsuit Edition model, Kathy has led a long
and successful career as a model, actress and designer. She
appeared three times on the cover of the SI Swimsuit Edition
and appeared in the mag 12 times over her career, certainly
a record. Her feature film debut came in Alien from L.A. (1988).
She followed that up with roles in Journey to the Center of
the Earth (1989), Mr. Destiny (1990), Necessary Roughness
(1991), Mom and Dad Save the World (1992), Loaded Weapon 1
(1993), Amore! (1993) and Backfire! (1995) before essentially
retiring from films. So while she did an impressive amount
of work in the Hollywood realm, she still remains best known
for her work as one of the world's hottest supermodels. She
also put out annual calendars, released a number of fitness
videos, and when she eased out of modeling began working on
a second career as a designer. She now has her own line of
clothing at KMart and designs lamps. She is also a contributing
editor for FITNESS magazine. She remains an amazing success
story, able to extend herself and create something of a small
empire. |
