Writeup: Born in Islington, London in 1964, Kathy
is a skillful character actress with training from Anna Scher
Theatre School in Islington. In 1983 she landed her first
feature film role after being spotted by director Mai Zetterling
who was looking for girls to appear in his film Scrubbers.
It's been an impressive mix of feature films and TV work since
then, with more than 35 projects on her resume. Notable feature
films include Forever Young (1983), Sid and Nancy (1986),
Eat the Rich (1987), Amongst Barbarians (1990), Nil by Mouth
(1997), Dancing at Lughnasa (1998), Elizabeth (1998), Love,
Honor and Obey (2000), and Once Upon a Time in the Midlands
(2002). She is also well known in Britain for her work on
television shows, namely as a comedic actress on Harry Enfield's
Television Programme (1990-92), Harry Enfield and Chums (1994),
Common As Muck (1994), and Gimme, Gimme, Gimme (1999-2001).
In fact, she was nominated for for three British Comedy Awards
and two BAFTA awards Gimme, Gimme, Gimme. She has also been
nominated for a BAFTA award, for Best Actress, for her role
in Nil by Mouth (1997). |
