Writeup: Kate made her major Hollywood debut in the
1975 TV series Alien Lover, a short lived show that didn't
make it past it's opening episodes. A TV movie and mini series
followed, and in 1979 she was the star of the "Columbo"
spinoff Kate Loves A Mystery. She played Kate Columbo, the
famous TV detective's wife, and while the show was deemed
a critical hit, it was canceled after two years. After that
it becomes mostly unmemorable sorry to say, with roles in
numerous telepics and minis following, as well as a few feature
films (these include Lovespell, A Stranger Is Watching, Throw
Momma From The Train and Round Numbers). In my opinion, it
was in 1995 that Kate reached her highest career point. She
was cast as Captain Kathryn Janeway on the Star Trek series
Voyager, the first female Captain on a Star Trek series. The
series was popular and made Kate a household name to many
of the young men who are fans of the show. She appeared in
the last Star Trek movie and hasn't worked in film since. |
